3 Nights in North Devon
If we were to suggest a 3-night break at The Little House or Long House here is what we might suggest you do during your stay.
Day 1
After arriving early afternoon to a warm welcome. Drive to Saunton Sands beach for a walk and a cuppa at the little café. On route home stop off in Braunton for a fish and chip dinner at South 16 or At One.
Day 2
If you like a decent coastal walk head to Morte Point for a dramatic coastal hike with magnificent views in every direction. Or Park up at Morte Point and walk to Ilfracombe. You can take the bus back! Lee Bay near Ilfracombe is another awesome place to park up and do a circular walk. If you are not a hiker…. Head to Lynton and Lynmouth on the North Devon coast, park up at Valley of the Rocks and walk along the dramatic to tow path to Lynmouth (30-45 mins), stunning, dramatic views all the way. A wander around the shops and grab a bag of Roly’s fudge later, indulge in a pasty on the sea wall, enjoy the view and see what the fishermen bring in. Take the Cliff Railway up the hill to Lynton and enjoy some time exploring the winding streets of Lynton and the Arts and Crafts Centre before the 20 minute walk back to The Valley of the Rocks. Take the toll road to past Lee Abbey and park up in the small car park by Lee Bay here you can see a beautiful chapel housed in the rock and explore Lee Bay – we have seen dolphins in this bay! Wind your way back home. Dinner at The Muddiford Inn or just flop with a bottle of vino and the trickle of our stream in the background!
If you have time and the tide is low, Lee Bay is worth a visit to simply chill and watch the world go by. Or be brave, head through the rocks to secret bay and take a dip! It is a special place.
Day 3
Head for Woolacombe and park up above the beach on Marine Drive Car Park near the Porthole Cafe. Walk along the top track beach to Putsborough and back to Woolacombe. Stop off at the Porthole for a cuppa or lunch. Perhaps tonight a BBQ at the Little House. Reeds butcher in Braunton does great home made burgers.
Day 4
Heading home via Exmoor stop off at Lanacre Bridge and beautiful picnic stop or Tarr Steps where there is a lovely pub. For for some shops try Dulverton (pretty riverside Pub) or Exford before heading for the M5.
